Training

We provide high quality training delivered by instructors with experience of facing real life emergencies, over many years. Their backgrounds include working as doctors, nurses or paramedics, serving in the armed forces, or working as firefighters or police officers.

Advanced First Aid is a practical skill and our courses reflect that with plenty of simulation and moulage scenarios. All of our courses are updated annually, to ensure they are fit for purpose and reflect current practices and recommendations.

EURIECA® Course

As the renewable energy sector continues to grow, the distance from their locations to civilization also grows. This means that in a medical emergency, EMS response times are longer, and the need to be self-sufficient has never been greater.

Whilst basic first aid plays its part in the management of casualties in a remote environment, there is an absolute need for personnel who can immediately attend a casualty with the skills to assess, diagnose and treat life-threatening emergencies safely and effectively.

The EURIECA® advanced first aid course is the most advanced first aid course available to non-healthcare professionals. The course has been developed based on industry incident data, multiple renewable energy medical needs assessments, GWO enhanced first aid standard and the latest evidence based clinical practice.

Delivered over 3 days the course is underpinned with approx. 4 hrs of pre-course e:learning to support the theoretical understanding of advanced first aid. Completion of the pre-course e:learning enables the course to be very practical in focus with the majority of sessions being hands on clinical skills and scenario based learning.

EURIECA® Maintenance Of Skills (MOS) Facilitator Training

To ensure that advanced first aiders are able to safely and effectively provide care when an emergency arises, it is essential that they receive ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Trauma Resus has adopted the model of low-dose, high-frequency training to deliver ongoing continuous professional development via an innovative hybrid model of local EURIECA® Maintenance of Skills (MOS) facilitators, online webinars and the Laerdal Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) system.

We have developed a two-day MOS Facilitators course, which trains members of your organization to become local MOS facilitators. Once the MOS facilitators have completed the course, Trauma Resus provides the learning materials to enable them to effectively deliver ongoing CPD to EURIECA® trained personnel. Alternatively, Trauma Resus can directly deliver Maintenance Of Skills training in pre-arranged sessions.

MOS facilitators undertake an annual 1 day requalification course, and receive an updated MOS package, which includes any changes to clinical practice.

EURIECA® Awareness Course (EAC)

It is widely recognised that shore-based teams involved in site coordination & control are the lynchpin for communication, especially during an active emergency response, resulting in high pressure and testing of individuals’ knowledge.

Considering this, the EAC is focused upon providing participants an improved understanding of the EURIECA® program, to enable effective operational planning and preparation, leading to a high performing team which improves outcomes when responding to any emergency situations that may occur.

In addition to improving their understanding of the operational constraints that working in the remote and austere environment brings, medical related terminology employed, and inter-agency working, individuals will also conduct emergency first aid skills, including management of bleeding, and basic life support using an Automated External Defibrillators (AED).
