Trauma Resus has delivered the CCATT training course for over a decade, utilising a faculty of intensive care consultants and experienced health care professionals.
The Intensive Care Society (ICS) and Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) released updated guidance on ‘The transfer of Critically Ill Adults’ (May 2019) following recommendations made by The Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch in January 2019.
Dr Carl Waldmann, FICM Dean states:
“Transferring critically ill patients who may be suffering with several problems requiring multi organ support requires exceptional planning and requires the staff to be highly trained.”
Transporting patients in a critical condition is a challenging, high-risk situation that demands the right team, with the right training to ensure these risks are managed appropriately, and to perform a safe and effective transfer. All surgery and anaesthesia come with risk and, if patients deteriorate, do your staff have the knowledge to effectively assess and stabilise a critically ill patient and perform a safe transfer?
This intensive one-day course will provide medical personnel with the skills and knowledge needed to make critical care transfer as safe and efficient as possible, improving outcomes and comfort for the patient.
The Critical Care Advanced Transfer Training (CCATT) course is aimed at all those involved with the transport of critically ill patients including doctors, nurses, ODPs & paramedics.
This intensive one-day course will provide medical personnel with the skills and knowledge needed to make critical care transfers as safe and efficient as possible, improving outcomes and reducing the risk for the patient.
Based on the Intensive Care Society guidelines (2019) the course covers the planning and effective delivery of critical care transfers, and shares some well-established tips and tricks.
