Training

Our training ranges from basic first aid, through to advanced first aid and trauma training.

Trauma Resus instructors have all faced real-life emergencies either in medical careers, serving in the armed forces or working as firefighters or police officers.

This insight and experience combined with lots of simulation and moulage scenarios, mean that our training courses at all levels are hands-on, relevant and interesting. We update all courses annually, keeping them fit for purpose and reflective of current practices and recommendations.

EURIECA™

As the renewable energy sector grows, more windfarms are being developed, with turbines located at distances further and further from shore, and civilisation. This means that in medical emergencies, response times are longer, and operators have a greater need for onsite advanced first aid and lifesaving skills.

Our European Remote Immediate Emergency Care Advanced (EURIECA™) course is accredited by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) as compliant with its GWO Enhanced First Aid (EFA) criteria. What’s more, this training goes above and beyond the EFA requirements.

It is designed specifically for those working in often remote offshore or onshore wind environments, with the aim to reduce preventable pre-hospital deaths. The advanced first aid training helps individuals to identify and treat life-threatening injuries sustained in these remote areas, and to prepare casualties for rapid evacuation to hospital.

CCATT

This course is aimed at all those involved with the transport of critically ill patients including doctors, nurses, ODPs & paramedics, and provides the most up to date advanced transfer training available in the UK.

Trauma Resus has delivered the CCATT training course for over a decade, utilising a faculty of intensive care consultants and experienced health care professionals.

Transporting patients in a critical condition is a challenging, high-risk situation that demands the right team, with the right training to ensure these risks are managed appropriately, and to perform a safe and effective transfer. All surgery and anaesthesia come with risk and, if patients deteriorate, do your staff have the knowledge to effectively assess and stabilise a critically ill patient and perform a safe transfer?

This intensive one-day course will provide medical personnel with the skills and knowledge needed to make critical care transfer as safe and efficient as possible, improving outcomes and comfort for the patient.

RAFA

In addition to the normal day-to-day first aid requirement in busy shopping centres, retail and public spaces, recent terrorist incidents in Europe have demonstrated that the raising and lifting of lockdown restrictions may impact upon the timing of attacks.

The RAFA programme has been developed by experts in pre-hospital care alongside industry specialists, and is delivered by instructors who work at the cutting edge of pre and in-hospital care.

Shopping centres are particularly vulnerable to terrorist attacks because of their easy access and dense concentrations of people. This vulnerability has resulted in a relatively high risk of attacks. Since 1998, over 60 terrorist attacks at shopping centres have occurred throughout the world. High levels of footfall and the number of areas viewable via online platforms make the identification of hostile reconnaissance at such locations increasingly difficult.

We also offer maintenance of skills instructor training, enabling members of your team to continuously refresh their skills, and can provide advanced first aid equipment.
