Despite high quality simulation, training with manikins can differ to using your knowledge and skills in the real world, when it really matters.
Upon successful completion of the IEC Instructor course, and subject to an approved enhanced DBS check, we can facilitate the opportunity to attend a 5-day hospital placement working with members of our team in a busy hospital in the North West, to take your training to the next level.
A hospital placement may also be appropriate as a part of your ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) portfolio.
Such a placement will not be simply in the role of an observer. It will be a ‘hands on’ practical placement involving real life patients, where students may be required to achieve a number of airway management procedures including laryngeal mask insertions, attendance at cardiac arrests, assessment of critically ill patients on the critical care unit, and assessment of limb injuries amongst a whole host of other scenarios.
All students will be under direct supervision of critical care staff at all times, and under the overall supervision of a leading consultant.
